Chai Tea Latte

Chai Tea Latte

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups whole milk
1-inch piece of fresh ginger, thinly sliced
6 green cardamom pods, cracked open
2 star anise
8 black peppercorns
1/2 tablespoon cloves
1/2 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons black tea leaves
2 tablespoons honey, or to taste

Directions

 

Heat the milk, ginger and spices in a medium saucepan over medium heat, until the milk begins to simmer. Turn off the heat, place a lid on the saucepan, and allow the mixture to steep for 10 minutes. Add the tea leaves and bring the milk back to a simmer. Turn the heat off, place a lid on the saucepan, and allow the tea to steep for 4 minutes. Strain the mixture through a wire sieve. Stir in honey to taste. Serve hot.
